Real Life applications of buffers
1. Buffers are used to keep the bloodstream at a 7.4 pH level. Specifically, carbonic acid and hydrogen carbonate.
2. Buffers are used in shampoos to balance out the alkalinty that would usually burn your scalp. Citric acid and sodium hydroxide are two example buffers used for shampoo. 3. Buffers are used for fermentation, which is a process for making alcohol. They are placed in before fermentation to make sure the solution isn't too acidic.
